Some Traditional Sweet Treats

For many people, this is the best time of year. To help you enjoy the holidays even more, I have created recipes for holiday favorites that are wholesome and healthy.

Egg Nog is a delicious part of the holiday season. This year using my recipes, you can enjoy as much Egg Nog as you like without worry about calories, fat or sugars! My Traditional Egg Nog is just as you would expect Egg Nog to be. My Mock Egg Nog is great when you want a sweet drink, very similar to egg nog, in no time at all with no effort.

My Gingerbread People are gingery, not too sweet and delicious. Decorated with raisins and cream cheese frosting, these holiday treats are fun to bake and fun to eat.

Aura's Fruitcake is absolutely scrumptious! With just enough batter to hold the dried fruit together, the outside crust is exquisitely crispy and sticky. Since I use applesauce and orange juice, the cake is superbly moist without any added oils or butter.

Carob chips add a deliciously festive surprise to my Carob Chip Sweet Potato Pie. Sweet potatoes are so healthy and so sweet that it is easy to make this pie wholesome enough to be served as a meal. I also give instructions for a crustless pie for those families who are not enamored with pie crusts.

Last but certainly not least, don't forget the cookies. You can use my Poppy Seed Cookies and Coconut Cookies.

Happy holidays and enjoy the recipes from all of us at Aura's Kitchen.
